Buying a home involves lots of moving parts, especially if you are a first time home buyer. (congrats on taking that step) Knowing what to do, before, during and after will help you eliminate or keep stress at bay. Here are just a few things you should not do while you are in the process of purchasing your first home:

  • You cannot buy anything on credit.

  • You cannot have your credit pull.

  • You cannot obtain any new credit.

  • You cannot have any over drafts.

  • Do not make any large deposit without first speaking with the lender.

  • Do not co-sign anything for anyone.

  • Do no make any late payments.

  • Do not move large amount of money between accounts.

  • Do not become self-employed.

  • Do not change jobs unless absolutely necessary. New job must be in the same field.

  • Do not acquire any new debts.

  • Do not purchase any large items such as a car.

  • Do not close existing credit accounts.

  • Do not miss any monthly payments.
