Hello and welcome to Houston First Time Home Buyers Edition, formally First Home Houston (FHH). AnnualCreditReport.com is the United States only authorized website, where consumers can obtain free credit reports from the three major credit agencies that includes Experian, TransUnion and Equifax every 12 months. This right is guaranteed by Federal Law. If you plan on obtaining your free credit reports, here is what you need to know.

This is the only official government site.
The Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions (FACT) entitles you to a free credit report.
There are 3 ways to get a free copy of your credit report.
You may view steps to update your credit reports at no cost online at AnnualCreditReport.com.
You can request all 3 reports at once or you can order one at a time.
Your credit score is not included in the free report.
To obtain your scores, you will need to pay for them. They are typically not free.
You can order your free report. by calling 877.322.8228.
Order your free report. online at AnnualCreditReport.com.
To order your free report by mail, first obtain the form from crediteducation.org, complete the form and mail it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service | P.O. Box 105281 | Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.

Please keep in mind, you can also obtain a free credit report if you have been denied credit within the last 60 days. All you need to do is call the toll free number provided in the letter you received denying you credit.

You can also send your request by mail to the credit reporting agency that the creditor used, along with a copy of the denial letter. For example, if the creditor used Trans Union, you will send your request to Trans Union. For more information, please visit FTC.gov.
