Buying a Home Where a Suicide or Murder Occurred

Hello and welcome to Houston First Time Home Buyers Edition, Did you know that, if a murder occurred on a property you may be in the process of buying, it must be disclosed on the Seller’s Disclosure Notice.

While the Texas property Code does not require sellers to disclose deaths on the property that resulted from natural causes, suicide, or an accident unrelated to the property’s conditions, murder does not fall into these categories. It must be disclosed.
