How to Use Your Phone to Scan Real Estate Documents

Good morning and welcome to Houston First Time Home Buyers Edition, where we provide useful information to help Houston first time home buyers make the most informed decision when it comes to buying, decorating, and maintaining their first home. Getting requested documents to your lender can be a bit tricky sometimes, especially during normal working hours.

One way I help clients with this, is to explain how to use their iPhone to scan requested documents. Some lenders will not accept documents if you take screenshots or pictures of the documents and send it to them. They will however, accept scanned documents. This is easy, using your iPhone. Here is how to do it:

• Open Notes, then tap the document in the note.

• Tap the Markup button. (this is the symbol of a tiny pen head in a circle)

• Tap the Add button (plus sign in a circle), then tap Signature and add a saved signature or create a new signature. Then you can adjust the size of the signature box and place it wherever you want on the document.

• Tap Done.

• Super easy. Right?
