Houston Property Tax Payment Options

Good morning and welcome! As a first time home owner, it is most likely that you property taxes will be paid by your mortgage company. However, just in case you are responsible for paying your property taxes yourself, here some payment options you should be aware of. First thing you should know is that the Tax Office accepts both full and partial property tax payment that can be made online, in person, by mail or by phone.

If you are paying for prior year taxes, please note that partial payments made by mail or over the phone post to current year taxes first.

If however, you want to pay ONLY prior year taxes, you can do so online or in person at any branch location. You may also split your payment between current and prior year taxes when using either of these methods. Please note, any amount paid toward prior year taxes online will post beginning with to the oldest year(s) first. If you are unsure or have questions, please call the main number at 713.274.800.
