According to HireAHelper, the average moving cost is expected to peak at $454 this year before heading down. While total moving costs did reached an all time high in 2022 and have remain above the $400 mark, moving cost have continue to increase so far this year.

If you are planning on moving before the summer is over, you should expect to pay more, in part because more than half of all moves occur during the summer months. While it does cost more to move in some areas, like Cypress, where moving cost have increased 39% in Katy, cost went down 15%.

Make sure to factor in distance, packing, and how much stuff you will be moving into your moving cost. And don’t forget to call or search at least 3 companies  to collect estimates before making a decision.
